As always everything
starts from an idea.
My ambitious project is to create a stunning red wine which could be the top expression of the land where I produce, Euganean Hills. I love wine! I like mostly the conviviality and atmosphere created by wine, and, in particular, I love producing it.
Since 1995 I am responsible of Ca’Orologio farm but cultivating vines, even if arouses my passion, and selling grapes, is not enough to me anymore. I need to put myself to the test and I have in mind the wine I would realise: my ideal wine!
The encounter with Roberto Cipresso, a skilful and creative wine-maker whose “purist” philosophy on wine I share, and the confirmation that he, who already experienced the territory, trusted as me to the project, made this challenge start. On my side I’ve put all the care, the devotion and the passion I could, the all of us have put their harts and we are pleased with the results. The way is all uphill, but I don’t care because I trust on it and, otherwise, what satisfaction would it be?
The real wine
I set myself the aim of producing a wine that is a real portrait of these lands, accepting that, in unfavourable years, the result could not be that dreamed of, but when the year will be good then I’m sure that ours will be a great wine!

Il mio ambizioso progetto è
mettere a punto un vino rosso importante che sia la massima
espressione del territorio che amo ed in cui lavoro, i Colli
Euganei.
Adoro il vino! Mi piace sopratutto la convivialità che
scaturisce condividendo in compagnia un, due, tre... buoni
bicchieri -l'atmosfera si scalda, fluidi i pensieri e le parole
ma non vuole essere un invito all'ebbrezza!
La cosa magica del mio lavoro è che c'è un sacco di tempo per
fare progetti per la vendemmia che deve venire, con il passare
dei mesi ed il susseguirsi delle stagioni, il rapporto con la
natura si fa coinvolgente allo spasimo, tanti i progetti sulla
migliore interpretazione della vendemmia che verrà, non c'è una
"ricetta" protagonista è l'uva che a seconda dell'annata si
presenta diversa, poi la curiosità di spingersi sempre un po'
oltre per cercare di ottenere il massimo.
Della vendemmia che verrà, si spera che sarà speciale, la
migliore, si soffre se l'estate è troppo siccitosa, si pena se
piove d'agosto, e se grandinasse a compromettere tutti i
risultati??...che dire poi della fatidica data della raccolta,
alle volte anche un giorno può fare la differenza e comunque
quando arrivano in cantina le cassette con l'uva è impossibile
non domandarsi se sarebbe stato meglio aspettare ancora, oppure
se abbiamo atteso tirato un po' troppo la corda sperando di
trovare qualcosa di più... se sbagli non puoi rimediare che alla
successiva vendemmia. Passione, amore patimento... quante cose
in un bicchiere di vino: "e poi si dice ma si, cosa sarà mai
alla fine è solo vino!".
